Environmental Officers are appointed to ensure that basic sustainable expectations at Monash University are met; including adequate recycling provision, purchasing recycled paper and energy saving initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities
Environmental Officers are appointed to carry out a simple workplace assessment to ensure their department provide the minimum environmental expectations and, with support and guidance from the office of environmental sustainability if required, help implement necessary changes.
The assessments should be carried out twice a year as part of the OHSE workplace assessments. Environmental Officers attend the quarterly OHSE zone committee meetings to provide updates and gain assistance. Environmental Officers also help ensure the correct and timely reporting of environmental hazards.
We provide training to ensure you are well equipped to carry this out. Please ensure you complete the minimum training provides (see below).
