James Gormley Bike Arrival Station takes out award

Great News - The James Gormley Bike Arrival Station at Clayton, has taken out the City of Monash World Environment Day Built Environment Award. The award recognised the bike arrival station as an innovative facility which supports and encourages sustainable transport.

Paul Barton, Director of the Office of Environmental Sustainability accepted the award on behalf of Monash, noting the vision of James Gormley, a tireless advocate for sustainability programs at Monash and particularly the provision of improved amenities for cyclists on campus.  (pictured from left are Paul Barton, Cr Denise McGill Monash Council and Mr Toby Lyng, Mirvac - Sponsor of the award).  (Pictured right is John Sheridan outside the facility)

Funds received from the award, will be used to improve the locker facilities at the Bike Arrival Station.
