Thinking of refurbishing? Why not use recycled furniture

The University Furniture Reuse Program is in full swing providing faculties and departments with a very cost effective and immediate solution to their furniture needs.  This year, the Reuse Program has already saved faculties & departments thousands of dollars in new furniture costs.  A large variety of furniture is immediately available and once suitable item/s have been selected, delivery averages 2-5 days.
 
Currently there is no charge for the furniture and departments only pay for delivery via a BEIMS request.  A small cost per item will be introduced in March to assist with funding the program.
 
Faculties and departments are encouraged to donate surplus furniture to the program rather than storing it. Any furniture unable to be reused within the University is then offered to student groups and charities.
 
Furniture reuse diverts waste from landfill and conserves resources, energy and water during production processes. In short, reuse makes good environmental and economic sense!
