Monash is committed to renewable energy and to harnessing solar and wind energy on campus.  Monash purchases a minimum of 15 percent of green power from renewable energy resources.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Current Installations

 

Berwick campus 
A photovoltaic solar array containing more than 1500 separate panels has been installed at the university's Berwick campus.  Click here to read more.

     
 

Caulfield Campus
Renewable energy initiatives are planned for the Caulfield Campus in 2011/12.   Information on these initiatives will be available shortly.

     

 

Clayton Campus
There are several renewable energy initiatives at the Clayton campus.  These include a photovoltaic 416 solar panel array installed on the roof of the campus centre and a solar thermal system for heating water in the Doug Ellis Pool.  Click here to read more.

     
   

Gippsland Campus
9 Solar Hot Water Systems were installed on the Southern Residences at Gippsland Campus saving over 80% of electricity that the hot water system would otherwise use. Click here to read more.

     
 

Parkville Campus
The Parkville Solar array installed towards the end of 2008 is expected to produce 6,200 kWh of electricity per annum.  Click here to read more.
