Domestic Courier

Monash University has appointed two companies in June 2007 to provide domestic courier/freight services. These are:

  1. Metropolitan courier services Australian National Couriers (ANC)
  2. Intra/Interstate courier services Australia Air Express (AAE)

The common used product from ANC is a 'three hour' delivery time service; however you can request a faster service. AAE delivery is an overnight service, but actual delivery will depend on the destination location. You can view expected delivery standards here.

Due to 'commercial in confidence' requirements, all relevant rates for these two services are not displayed on this site. Feel free to contact your campus mailroom (contact details indicated further below) for costing/rates advice.

Below are the procedures departments should follow to avail themselves to these services. It is our intention to keep these procedures as consistent as possible across all campuses, however in line with slightly different operating requirements on some campuses due to size, resources, etc this will not always be possible. As a result the procedures below are specified by campus and departments should follow the relevant procedure as listed against their campus of operation.

Berwick

Mailroom location/contact: Building 902 Room G64, ext. 47120

  1. Metropolitan courier services
    • Deliver item/s to the mailroom for processing.
    • Mailroom will organise pickup, delivery and journal cost to department upon receipt of invoice.
  2. Intra/Interstate courier services (Overnight)
    • Deliver item/s to the mailroom for processing.
    • Mailroom will assist with the completion of the consignment document, organise pickup, delivery and journal cost to department upon receipt of invoice.
  3. Intra/Interstate courier services (Urgent and dangerous goods)
    • Please contact the mailroom for advice.

Caulfield

Mailroom location/contact: Building A1, ext. 32200

  1. Metropolitan courier services
    • Deliver item/s to the mailroom for processing.
    • Mailroom will organise pickup, delivery and journal cost to department upon receipt of invoice.
  2. Intra/Interstate courier services (Overnight)
    • Complete proforma attached at bottom of this page
    • Item/s and proforma needs to be at the mailroom by NLT 3.30pm. The mailroom will pick up item/s with proforma during the course of the day on the normal runs. Should this result in you not making the deadline, please deliver item/s to the mailroom by 3.30pm.
  3. Intra/Interstate courier services (Urgent and dangerous goods)
    • Please contact the mailroom for advice.

Clayton

Mailroom location/contact: Building 56, ext. 54063

  1. Metropolitan courier services
    • In the first instance contact mailroom to organise your department to become a user of the Clayton mailroom ANC account. Some departments may already be listed as a user.
    • Please call ANC on 9376 4855 and you will need to provide:
      - Account number (provided to you by mailroom on set up)
      - User number (provided to you by mailroom on set up)
      - Your name and phone number.
    • ANC will come directly to you to pick up item/s.
    • Mailroom will journal cost to department upon receipt of invoice.
  2. Intra/Interstate courier services (Overnight)
    • Complete proforma attached at bottom of this page
    • Item/s and proforma needs to be at the mailroom by NLT 3.50pm. The mailroom will pick up item/s with proforma during the course of the day on the normal runs. Should this result in you not making the deadline, please deliver item/s to the mailroom by 3.50pm.
  3. Intra/Interstate courier services (Urgent and dangerous goods)
    • Please contact the mailroom for advice.

Gippsland

Mailroom location/contact: Building 4N Room 186, ext. 26740

  2. Intra/Interstate courier services (Overnight)
    • Complete proforma attached at bottom of this page
    • Item/s and proforma needs to be at the mailroom by NLT 2.30pm. The mailroom will pick up item/s with proforma during the course of the day on the normal runs. Should this result in you not making the deadline, please deliver item/s to the mailroom by 2.30pm.
  3. Intra/Interstate courier services (Urgent and dangerous goods)
    • Please contact the mailroom for advice.

Parkville

Reception location/contact: Building 1 Reception, ext. 39635

  1. Metropolitan courier services
    • Deliver item/s to the reception for processing.
    • Reception will organise pickup, delivery and journal cost to department upon receipt of invoice.
  2. Intra/Interstate courier services (Overnight)
    • Complete proforma attached at bottom of this page
    • Deliver item/s and proforma to be at the reception for processing by 3:00pm, for a 4:00pm pickup.
      Reception will assist with the completion of the consignment document, organise pickup and delivery.

Peninsula

  1. Metropolitan courier services
    • Deliver item/s to the mailroom for processing.
    • Mailroom will organise pickup, delivery and journal cost to department upon receipt of invoice.
  2. Intra/Interstate courier services (Overnight)
    • Complete proforma attached at bottom of this page
    • Item/s and proforma needs to be at the mailroom by NLT 1.00pm. The mailroom will pick up item/s with proforma when delivering/picking up the mail. Should you not have the item/s ready by that time, please deliver item/s to the mailroom by 1.00pm.
  3. Intra/Interstate courier services (Urgent and dangerous goods)
    • Please contact the mailroom for advice.

Departments not part of a Campus

Clayton Mailroom contact: 9905 54063

  1. Metropolitan courier services
    • In the first instance contact mailroom to organise your department to become a user of the Clayton mailroom ANC account. Some departments may already be listed as a user.
    • Please call ANC on 9376 4855 and you will need to provide:
      - Account number (provided to you by mailroom on set up)
      - User number (provided to you by mailroom on set up)
      - Your name and phone number.
    • ANC will come directly to you to pick up item/s.
    • Mailroom will journal cost to department upon receipt of invoice.
  2. Intra/Interstate courier services (Overnight)
    • In the first instance contact Clayton mailroom who will organise AAE to come to you and assist in setting up your own account.
    • From then on you complete a consignment note and contact AAE on a specially provided number to arrange pick up/delivery.
      You will receive your own invoices for reconciling and payment processing.
