Misuse of University Stationery and Postage Funds
Staff members and students of the University are reminded that University stationery must not be used for personal correspondence.
This includes the use of 'postage paid' envelopes, which results in the individual faculty/department/section paying the cost of the personal correspondence being mailed out.
The mailing out of personal mail through the mailroom without a stamp attached has the same result.
The mailroom has been tasked to monitor such incidents and return any suspected misuse to the relevant faculty/department/section.
Should the correspondence not be private, it may be returned for processing.
In the case of the correspondence being private, approval is required from the faculty/department/section head that the correspondence is to be processed and charged to the relevant funds.
A copy of this information will be forwarded with all returned correspondence.
