Outgoing Mail
In order to avoid unnecessary delays of outgoing mail and to maintain postal providers' deadlines, it is essential for all departments to:
- Ensure outgoing mail is legible and correctly addressed.
- Separate mail into three categories:
- internal mail
- external local and interstate mail
- external overseas mail
- Bundle the above mail and bind by strong rubber bands. Place in outgoing internal/external mailboxes provided at most departments.
- Do not utilise external envelopes when sending internal mail, as it may accidentally get posted.
- Where possible, contact the mailroom to advise on large mailouts, including a total count. Mail tubs can be provided to assist with large mailouts.
- When sending out large internal mail volumes, separate them into departments and campus locations, to prevent delays.
There is no same-day internal courier service between the metropolitan campuses and Gippsland campus. All mail to be transferred between Gippsland and all other campuses should still be placed in internal envelopes and the mailrooms will organise overnight delivery.
