The decision to evacuate a building or area usually relates to a serious safety issue and such warnings should always acted upon.

Where it becomes necessary to evacuate you will either hear an audible building alarm, a public address announcement, be directed personally by a Building Warden, campus Security Officer, or other authorized member of university staff or experience a combination of any or all of these options.

On being so directed, even if you think that the evacuation alarm/request is a drill or false alarm, you should evacuate the building as soon as possible.

There are notices posted alongside all building emergency exits advising the nearest evacuation assembly area. Where possible you should assemble at that point and await further instructions.
