Safety and Security
Parking at Monash
Safety & Security
The University takes safety and security very seriously. Considerable planning and ongoing services are afforded to our car parks. There are security cameras located in some of the car parks and it is planned to incorporate emergency intercom links into new car park construction. Security patrols are routinely conducted around the clock by University security officers as well as members of Victoria Police. However despite this, there will always be a level of risk associated with these types of facilities. People are reminded, as is the case throughout the broader community, vehicle owners and drivers remain responsible for their own property.
With this in mind, there are some simple things you can do to lower the risk to you and your property in car parks anywhere:
Where possible park in busy, less isolated sections of a car park.
Never leave your keys in the car.
Remove all interior valuables from view .
Lock all doors and close all windows .
Consider fitting a visible steering wheel or brake pedal lock .
Consider a car alarm and display alarm warning decals to the car.
Should you see anyone acting suspicious contact campus security as soon as possible .
