The following bus routes service our Clayton campus:

630 - Elwood Beach to Monash University [Eastrans]
An efficient, direct route along North Rd via Huntingdale, Ormond and Gardenvale train stations. It provides the fastest access to the Frankston and Sandringham train lines. Catch to Huntingdale for trains to the city.

Saturdays: 25-40 min until 8pm
Sundays: 40m min until 8pm

Bus 631Bus 631
631 - Southland to Waverley Gardens (via Monash University) [Moorabin Transit]
Runs directly to Waverley Gardens from Monash along Police Rd but on the way to Southland it disappears through the back blocks of Heatherton, however, it is probably the fastest service available to Southland from Monash, taking 40 minutes. The 631 also runs via Clayton Station.

693 Belgrave to Chadstone
(via Monash University-north end) [Invictabus]
The bus from Belgrave only stops at Monash (Howleys Rd) 3 times in the morning and to Belgrave twice in the afternoon. At all other times it must be caught on Ferntree Gully Rd. Despite its poor frequency it is probably the best was to get to Jells Park, Scoresby, Ferntree Gully, Tecoma and Belgrave from Monash.

Bus 703Bus 703
703 Middle Brighton to Blackburn (SmartBus) (via Monash University) [Ventura]
Part of the SmartBus scheme, the 703 runs directly along Blackburn Rd to Blackburn Station, via Syndal, linking up with the Glen Waverley, Belgrave and Lilydale train lines. The bus also runs via Clayton Station and the along Centre Rd to Brighton, however, the 630 will get you to the Brighton area much faster.

Saturdays: 30 min until 8:30pm

Bus 733Bus 733
733 Oakleigh to Box Hill
(via Monash University) [Ventura]
Runs along Stephensons and Middleborough Rds, via Mt Waverly Station to Box Hill Station. It takes around 40 min to get to Box Hill, which is around the same time as it would take if you caught the 703 to Blackburn and caught the train. It travels via Clayton Station to Oakleigh along a very inefficient route. Take the 800/802/804/862 instead.

Bus 737Bus 737
737 Croydon to Monash University
(via Monash University) [Ventura]
This bus goes Knox shopping centre, via Syndal and Glen Waverley Stations. After Knox, it meanders up and down practically every street in Boronia before finally reaching Croydon. Take the 703 and catch the train if your in any hurry.

742 Chadstone to Eastland
(via Monash University-north end) [Ventura]
This bus stops near the CSIRO and the engineering faculty. It meanders all over the place. It would be best used to get to Glen Waverly or Vermont but it is advisable to take the 703 and train to Ringwood or the 800/etc. to Chadstone.

800/802/804/862 Oakleigh to Dandenong (via Monash University) [Grendas]
These buses all run from Monash to Chadstone, via Oakleigh Station along Princes Hwy and Atherton Rd. The only efficient bus to Dandenong is the 800, which does not enter the bus loop, it must be caught on Princes Hwy. The 802 meanders through Mulgrave, the 804, through Wheelers Hill, and the 862, though Nth Dandenong.

Saturdays: 1-2 hours until 4 (800/804 only)
Sundays: 1-2 hours until 3 (800 only)

900 Caulfield to Rowville (SmartBus)
(Via Monash University [Eastrans / Grenda's]
Runs from Caulfield RS to Chadstone SC to Oakleigh RS to Huntingdale RS to Monash University then to Waverley Park and Stud Park SC in Rowville along Wellington Rd. Catch to Huntingdale to get to the city.
Frequency
Weekdays: 15min until 8.30pm then 30 min until midnight
Saturdays: 20 min until 8pm then 30 min until Midnight
Sundays: 30m min until 9pm

Train Station Connections

Belgrave/Lilydale Line

If you are heading closer to the city than Box Hill along the Belgrave or Lilydale Lines, you should catch either the 703 to Blackburn or the 733 to Box Hill (whichever departs from Monash first). If want to go further out than Box Hill you should catch the 703 to Blackburn. The 693 (if available - see buses) is good for accessing stations on the Belgrave Line from Ferntree Gully to Belgrave.

Dandenong/Pakenham/Cranbourne Lines

If you are heading towards the City, it is best to Catch the 630 Elwood Beach bus to Huntingdale. If you are going to anywherefurther out than Dandenong, catch either the 631 Southland, 703 Middle Brighton, or the 733 Oakleigh (whichever leaves Monash first). If you are going to Dandenong, you can catch the 800 to avoid the hassle of changing from a bus to a train, this bus takes just under 30 minutes from Monash.

Frankston Line

The 630 Elwood Beach bus to Ormond is the best way to access the Frankston Line.

Glen Waverley Line

It is generally best to catch the 733 Box Hill bus to Mt Waverley Station if you want the Glen Waverley Line, but if the 703 Blackburn or the 737 Croydon buses come more than 5 minutes earlier, catch one of them to Syndal. The 737 also goes on to Glen Waverley, so you don't have to change if that's where your going.

The 630 Elwood is the best route to access the Sandringham Line as it is faster and more direct than the 703 Blackburn bus.
